The barrel-shaped handle, made from three layers of durable polymer, offers outstanding strength and withstands heavy use, including batoning. Its well-thought-out handle geometry provides multiple useful grip options. The knife blade is crafted from German carbon steel, C100 – a high-quality and renowned knife steel from the steel producer. Combined with our expertise in hardening and metallurgy, it offers excellent performance for the bushcrafter. The steel is carefully balanced between hardness and toughness, which is essential for creating a high-performing and durable outdoor knife at a competitive price. This combination also makes the Garberg easy to maintain and sharpen in the field. The 11 cm long, 3.2 mm thick black knife blade features a Scandi grind, offering superb strength and stability in every cut. The black DLC coating protects against corrosion and prevents reflections of the knife blade. As a full tang knife blade extending through and beyond the handle, it allows for more advanced use. Both the spine and the tang heel are specifically adapted for easy use with a fire starter, depending on your preferred ignition technique. The knife blade manufacturing process has been refined over 130 years at the knife factory in Mora. Morakniv strives for an ideal balance between optimal sharpness and edge retention. Through advanced heat treatment, the knife blade is first heated to a glowing red temperature, then quickly cooled to room temperature before being tempered at several hundred degrees, optimizing the knife blade´s performance. After this process, the knife blade achieves a hardness of 57,5 HRC. Every component is meticulously developed, designed, and crafted with masterful quality at the knife factory in Mora, Sweden.
